Wed, 5 March 2008 ![]() For American Idol, a little bit of controversy comes handy. Especially when going against this year's political campaigns and elections. When the controversy is about a contestant who can sing and perform, people want to pay attention to the show which is in its 7th season. Simon Cowell and the other judges have already agreed that David Hernandez can sing. Little did the public know was that David Hernandez is not new to the performance scene. In fact, he is well known in Arizona, especially at Dick's where he used to be a male performer delighting men and women, patrons of the establishment. As far as his singing changes, he will qualify for many rounds. He is a bonus to the show right now. Who knows? He may continue to bring more eyeballs to the show on Tuesdays and Wenesdays for the ladies. Additional Information: Shop for Prom dresses, Prom gowns, Quincenera Gowns and Wedding Dresses

Thu, 19 April 2007 Simon was all too happy. Sanjaya ran out of luck this week. One could hear all the cries of joy or disappointment from all over America. Sanjaya is now history. The judges can return to the business of judging the contestants. Based on tonight's results, it seems that there will be lots of surprise. Those who started out performing very well may end up falling short of the prize. Any way, it is interesting to see what is going to happen in the next few weeks. Mon, 9 April 2007 Whatever happened to the Myspace Blogger named J who has been on strike to force Sanjaya off American Idol? Did he die or did he quit sacrificing his body for something like that? Well, there are true fans of the show out there. They will do anything to get Sanjaya the vote he needs to stay on. If Sanjaya leaves, the show will lose appeal. Simon has to change tactics. He has to appreciate the Indian American contestant. Sanjaya is more popular than one of the female singers who will win the show this season. Sanjaya brings the ratings up. He is to stay on until the end. Other foes are running businesses such as "If Sanjay wins..." they are selling stuff because of his mediocrity. But he has the votes of the American public and a large section of the Asian/Indian population residing in this country. He brings legitimacy and popularity to the millions of Indian doctors, bus and truck drivers living in this country. We do not need to talk about the importance of the Indian high tech worker in the Silicon Valley. They are the backbones of this country from tech to healthcare. Sanjaya is here to stay.

Mon, 9 April 2007 ![]() American Idol winner rocked the Northside Church in Clovis yesterday. Thousands of people came to see him sing during this beautifuly Easter service. Young as well and old ladies wearing their best Easter dresses came out to see the American Idol star sing. The church's pews were full. Many came just to see him. This is just a sampling of the popularity of the show all over the country. Ruben tried to get Pastor Rutherford to sign some notes. He did not get them right the first time, but after trying a few times, Ruben laughed and pretended to give up, but the pastor said, "I did much better than Sanjaya Malakar." The whole congregation laughed. Ruben went off stage only to return towards the end of the service. He sang a few songs but said that he missed his mother's home and home church. Ruben participated in three services. He also talked to the young of the church. In the meantime, George Huff, American Idol non-winner was at Cornerstone Church to participate in a fundraising for the victims of this year's Agricultural freeze.

Sun, 1 April 2007 Who would have thought that Sanjaya would still be around? Well, folks, he is here to stay. Even though Simon Cowell does not like him, he will continue to surprise the fans of American Idol because he is young and has a lot of support from the cell-phone user-friendly Asian Community. Especially, the Indian community is huge in this country. More than that, kids from all ethnic groups are falling for the singing-challenged contestant. As if all these young fans were not enough. Shock Jock Howard Stern is also hooting for Sanjaya. Well, cheering for 17 or 18-old Sanjaya brings on lots of controversy. Controversy sells. It is good for his show. Kids who are watching the show do not care whether he is not a good singer. All they want is to make sure that their contestant survives the next round of elimination. The good thing is that Simon and his fellow judges can not do anything about it. If the majority of the public wants him to stay on, he will be on. The surprise may be that he will win the show this year. Simon promises that he will not come back if he wins. Well, the public may give him his wishes. Most people may not like him any way. The next thing that will happen is that a presidential candidate may end up campaigning with Sanjaya Malaka. He currently has the star appeal. Sanjaya causes family members to take different sides. Mother and father may not want him to stay on, but the cell-phone-toting kids and adolescents want him. They will out-vote parents anyway. Mon, 22 January 2007 Well, the world of reality TV was surprised by Simon's comments to a young contestant last week. Simon had enough of the freak show put on by the Seattle crowd. He was bored to death and lashed out at two kids who met on the set and became friends. They did hear, "Welcome. You are going to Hollywood." But they left as one. They had each other. To one of these kids, Cowell said, "You look like a creature from these places....." Lo and behold, these comments allowed both kids to be on various shows, from Today show with NBC to a few comments by the Ladies of the View with O'Donnel as the leader of the downtrodden. This is not going to be the end of the show. That's American Idol type of TV viewing. Controversy on the show sells. Expect to see and hear more of the same refrain.

Wed, 17 January 2007 In the season premiere of American Idol, the judges went to Minneapolis where they went through some torturous moments selecting some of the contestants. Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, Ryan Seacrest and guest panelist Jewel had an earful. This year, watching the show has become a family or work affair. People talk about it around the water cooler the next day. For sure, they will be talking about some of the contestants. How about the voice coach who could not put his act together? Randy Jackson appeared to have been playing the role of Simon Cowell this year. He said that the voice coach should not be in the business of coaching or giving voice lessons. He should reimburse his clients. What a way to destroy somebody's livelihood? Not only did he not get selected to go on to Hollywood, the voice coach may also lose some of his clients.Who will not remember the contestant who started singing, left in the middle of the song only to drink some water? When he returned to resume singing, Simon and his other co-judges were surprised. The first contestant of the night cried after being rejected. Lots of drama. Lots of hope. Lots of theatricals are on the way this season. Get ready to laugh! Category: American Idol Fab_Four -- posted at: 3:52 AM Comments[0] |
